Road Nail

Use to fix clamps, anchors and flaps to hot mix or bitumen surfaces. Road nails come in 2 lengths, 62mm and 88mm (for softer roads). Made in USA and exclusively distributed in Australia by TCS Instruments.

Shoulder nail

Fix clamps, anchors and flaps to gravel or earth surfaces.

Shoulder nails are 150mm in length.

RamsetTM AnkascrewTM

A self tapping anchor with multi-use capabilities where the thread cuts into the substrate for a positive and secure anchorage.

Stake (with screw and washer)

Used on soft edges only - to allow fixing of clamps and anchors.Stake is 285mm in length, and each side is 25mm wide.

How to use the Road Stake.

Clamp (with screw and nut)

Clamps over end of tube (fitted with end-plug or solid plug (screw)). Fixed to opposite end of road to counter.

Vent plug

Used in end of tube when tube is located in an area of slow moving traffic. Vent plug is 26mm in length.

How to use the Clamp and the Vent Plug

Road Flap

Used as intermediate fixing to secure tube to road surface. Can also be used on shoulders to secure loose tube. 109mm x 52mm.

Washers

Used under nails for ease of removal and reduces damage to flaps.

Tube connector

Used for off-road extension of road tube. Under no circumstances use of join tube (in tension) between clamp and anchor. 51mm in length

Anchor

Slides over tube on counter side of the road - will grip to tube when pulled one way and allows tube to be pulled though the opposite way. Its purpose is to allow tension to be placed on tube across road surface (not shoulders).

How to use the Road Anchor

Pigtail

The ideal road tube clamp used for correctly tensioning the road tube by friction. Over-tensioning the rube will cause the tube to stretch and slip back to the correct tension level.

How to use the Pigtail

Road Tube

Rubber road tube placed on the road surface. Compression of the tube by vehicles causes a pulse of air to be sent to the recording device. Road tube is sold in 15M and 30M lengths. Specifications:

Internal diameter (hole) 5.5mm +/- 0.3mm

External diameter (hose) 13mm +/- 0.5mm

Road Tape

Bituthene road tape used on road tube to prevent damage to the tube, prevent the tube from bouncing on the road, as well as assisting in the muffling of sound. Muffling the sound is very important when installing tubes in residential areas. Road tape is 150mm wide and is sold in 20M lengths.

BW Padlock

Perfect for locking a counting device such as the Trafficorder or MetroCount together with the chain.

 

BW Padlock

Perfect for chaining the ISD counter to a fixture such as a telegraph pole or street sign. Comes supplied with the ISD.

Chain

Used to secure counting devices to fixtures such as telegraph poles and street signs. Comes in a standard 1.8M length, but can be supplied in custom lengths when required.

Battery Pack to suit MetroCount

This is a third party manufactured battery pack using the same components as the original manufacturer item.

RTA Trafficorder Mk II

Tube based Vehicle Classifier made in Australia by RTA NSW.

Metrocount 5600 RSU

Tube based Vehicle Logger made in Australia by Metrocount.

ISD Tube Counter

Tube based total counter. 2 tube hits = 1 vehicle. Made in New Zealand and exclusively distributed in Australia by TCS Instruments.

ITC Loop Counter

Loop based totaliser counter. Made in the USA.

Trail Counter

Piezo sensing pad which can be buried under the trail surface to count vehicles. Ideal for bush and trail environments.
