1 |
Select a good section of road
surface.
 |
|
2 |
Attach clamp to tube and fix to
shoulder or kerb on opposite side of road to counter using fittings
appropriate to the surface.
 |
|
3 |
Lay tube across the road at 90
degrees to direction of traffic and fix to shoulder or kerb with anchor
again using fitting appropriate to the surface. |
|
4 |
Pull tube through anchor so
that tube between clamp and anchor has 5 - 10% tension. |
|
5 |
Fix tube to pavement surface at
intervals of not less than 1 lane width, or equivalent, using a flap with a
washer under the nail or screw head.
 |
|
6 |
It is essential that the tube
is in close contact with the road surface across the entire width. Tube must
be 'flapped' into any significant depressions in the road surface.

Remember the essentials; the tube must be:
(a) at 90 degrees to traffic flow,
(b) the tension 5 - 10% between clamp and anchor,
(c) in close contact with road surface |
|
7 |
Coil up excessive tube on the
counter side. |
|
8 |
Chain and lock counter. |
|
9 |
Check operation. |
